It can be quite frustrating when you know what you want and can visualize it, but not find it!
I have good news! You can make your own necklace, just like the one pictured here, or a variation of.
Keep on reading, I'll show you how to make your own diy fashion necklace. This is a super easy project and lots of fun!
I found all of the supplies at my local craft store. If you have patience to look around, you can sometimes find the charms on clearance or sale.
The cost of supplies for the finished necklace was less than $5 and only took about 15 minutes to make.
Here are the supplies you will need:
- Needle nose pliers for jewelry making
- 36 inch chain
- Necklace clasp
- Jump rings (2)
- Charms
Poodles and Paris not your cup of tea? You can choose any charms you want for your necklace, as well as the chain color. Most craft stores have a wide variety of charms to choose from. Additionally, you can find chains and the findings to match in silver and gold, as well as the color I used in this diy project. That's the magic of making your own jewelry, you can customize it to your taste and style.
So let's get started with the project! Here is a step by step run down, it's really quite simple!
Directions:
- Lay your chain out on a flat surface.
- Attach the clasp lock to one end of the chain with a jump ring.
- Attach the clasp connector (round circle) to the other end of the chain with a jump ring.
- Find the center link of the chain. It's easiest to do this if you lay the chain down on your flat surface, and fold the chain in half. Double check that your end chain links are lining up.
- Attach your first charm to the center link of the necklace. In this project it would be the bow charm with dangling pearl drop.
- Now decide where you want the other two charms to be placed in relation to your first charm. For this project, I placed the poodle and Eiffel Tower charms 20 links above the center link of the chain. Depending on the size of your charm, you may need to have more or less spacing.
- Then connect the small chain of the Eiffel Tower charm to the other side of the necklace. (As pictured below). Depending on the charms you purchase, this step may be omitted.
Now you have the perfect fashion statement to show the world your love of dogs! This necklace would also make a great gift for your born to shop friend ❤
This necklace is the perfect do it yourself project for the beginner jewelry maker, or someone who enjoys quick and easy projects.
I hope you enjoy making this project as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you ❤
